Intellectual Property - Expert Witness
Our client, a premier advisory and expert witness firm, is seeking a highly credentialed Intellectual Property (IP) Expert Witness at the Managing Director level. This is a senior opportunity for a professional with deep expertise in IP valuation, damages analysis, and litigation support, who can independently generate significant revenue and deliver high-impact expert testimony.
The successful candidate will play a key role in litigation and arbitration matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and other IP assets, while contributing to the strategic growth of the firm's IP practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Generation: Independently generate a minimum of $500,000 in annual billings.
- Expert Testimony: Provide credible, defensible expert witness testimony in federal and state courts, arbitration, and other dispute resolution forums.
- IP Valuation & Damages: Lead engagements involving IP valuation, economic damages, lost profits, reasonable royalty calculations, and market analysis.
- Client Advisory: Collaborate with legal counsel and corporate clients to support litigation strategy, deposition preparation, and trial presentation.
- Thought Leadership: Contribute to the firm's reputation through publications, speaking engagements, and expert reports.
- Business Development: Build and maintain relationships with law firms, corporates, and IP attorneys to drive new business opportunities.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with analysts and consultants to deliver high-quality, defensible work products.
Candidate Profile:
- Advanced degree in economics, finance, accounting, or a technical field (PhD, MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar)
- 10+ years' experience in IP litigation, valuation, or economic consulting
- Proven track record of expert witness testimony in IP-related disputes
- Demonstrated ability to generate $500K+ in personal revenue annually
- Strong understanding of IP law, damages methodologies, and valuation techniques
- Excellent communication, analytical, and courtroom presence
