Overview

We are seeking an Investment Analyst to support the development and investment evaluation of renewable energy projects in Japan. This role will focus on building and maintaining complex, project‑level financial models used for internal decision‑making, financing, and investment approvals.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong financial modelling fundamentals who is eager to grow, learn, and deepen their expertise within a strong renewable energy platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models for renewable energy projects
  • Support project valuation, investment analysis, and scenario/sensitivity analysis
  • Assist with financing models, including debt sizing, cash flow waterfalls, and covenant analysis
  • Work closely with development, commercial, and investment teams to reflect real project assumptions in models
  • Support internal approvals, management reporting, and investor or lender materials
  • Review and improve existing models to ensure accuracy, robustness, and transparency
  • Continuously develop modelling best practices and improve model efficiency and structure

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in financial modelling and corporate/project finance
  • Solid understanding of cash flow modelling, IRR, NPV, and sensitivity analysis
  • High proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, model structuring, error checking)
  • Business level Japanese and English
  • Interest in renewable energy and infrastructure projects
  • Ability to work with complex and evolving assumptions
  • Willingness and ability to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset

Ideal Profile

  • 2-6 years' experience in financial modelling, project finance, investment analysis, or similar
  • Experience in renewables, infrastructure, energy, or real assets is preferred but not essential
  • Someone who is technically solid, curious, and motivated to grow into a long‑term role
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, development‑driven environment
