Position Overview

This role provides specialized technical support for rotating equipment, with a primary emphasis on gas and steam turbines used in power generation. Additional responsibilities include supporting large-scale industrial projects involving ammonia, syngas, hydrogen, and COâ‚‚ compression and pumping systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the specification, evaluation, and selection of machinery for major capital projects.
  • Develop and maintain mechanical procedures, engineering standards, and equipment specifications.
  • Analyze and track lifecycle costs for rotating equipment maintenance and replacement.
  • Conduct root-cause failure analyses (RCFA) and incident investigations using established methodologies.
  • Implement Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) for capital projects.
  • Design and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, manage bidding processes, and perform detailed bid evaluations.
  • Specify auxiliary compression and liquid pumping equipment based on operational requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineering staff to enhance team capabilities and technical proficiency.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues related to rotating equipment.
  • Update and refine internal equipment specifications and engineering standards.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring alignment with safety regulations, engineering and construction standards, and operational procedures.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and budget forecasts with minimal supervision.
  • Provide engineering support to field operations as needed.
  • Foster effective collaboration across teams with professionalism and tact.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and high performance standards.
  • Uphold safety protocols for personnel, equipment, and the public.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with rotating equipment in large-scale industrial or power generation facilities.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with combined-cycle power plant design.
  • Experience with compressor and pump station design, including those in Process Safety Management (PSM) environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, including P&IDs, flow diagrams, and cause/effect charts.

Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record for travel purposes.

  • Ability to work collaboratively, follow management direction, and meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks under time constraints.
