Manager NERC Compliance
Position Summary:
The Manager of NERC CIP Compliance will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) compliance program. This role requires deep expertise in NERC CIP standards and strong leadership skills to manage a team of compliance professionals and collaborate cross-functionally with IT, OT, legal, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the company's NERC CIP compliance program, ensuring adherence to all applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and mentor a team of compliance analysts and specialists.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to support CIP compliance.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, self-certifications, and mitigation plans.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, including NERC, FERC, and regional entities.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to ensure secure and compliant infrastructure.
- Provide training and awareness programs across the organization.
- Report on compliance status, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of direct experience in NERC CIP compliance, preferably in the energy or utility sector.
- 2+ years of direct people management experience, with a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of NERC CIP standards (CIP-002 through CIP-014).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and operational technology (OT) environments.
- Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills.
- Experience with audit processes and regulatory engagement.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, NERC Certified Compliance Professional) are a plus.
