Role Overview
As a Structural Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality design and analysis across a wide range of commercial and industrial projects. You'll collaborate with architects, contractors, and internal teams to ensure structural integrity, code compliance, and efficient design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis using tools such as RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Excel
- Design and layout steel systems and foundations for commercial and industrial buildings
- Develop detailed designs using steel, concrete, masonry, and other structural materials
- Interpret and apply structural building codes (seismic, wind, snow drift loading)
- Prepare construction document packages and coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
- Review material specifications, shop drawings, and submittals
- Conduct on-site inspections and surveys to verify field conditions and system installations
- Attend client meetings to understand project requirements and expectations
- Assist in developing engineering scopes and proposals
- Direct and review drafting personnel; perform drafting when necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
- P.E. Registration (or ability to obtain)
- 3-10 years of relevant experience in structural design
- Experience in the consulting engineering industry
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and RISA
- Preferred: Experience with construction documentation and interdisciplinary coordination
