Location: Pittsburgh Metro Area
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel: Regional travel required (approx. 50%)
Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $95,000-$105,000
  • First year average OTE: $170,000
  • Top Performers Earn: $200,000-$250,000
  • Ramp-Up Support: 6-month commission guarantee

About the Role

We're hiring a Project Development Engineer (PDE) to join a high-performing team focused on geohazard mitigation and infrastructure stabilization. This role blends technical engineering expertise with strategic business development, offering a unique opportunity to lead project scoping, client engagement, and solution design across a variety of challenging environments.

You'll be responsible for identifying and pursuing prospective projects, building relationships with key stakeholders, and delivering tailored design/build solutions for complex geotechnical challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account plans to meet sales targets and growth objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the client base.
  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with field teams to assess project needs.
  • Lead client meetings, negotiations, and proposal development.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project feasibility and profitability.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance reports.
  • Resolve client issues and maintain long-term relationships.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in B2B consultative sales or technical project development.

Preferred:

  • Experience in geotechnical, structural, or infrastructure-related industries.
  • Strong commercial acumen and deal-making skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce, Zendesk, B2W).
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct field assessments in rugged terrain.
  • Based in or willing to spend significant time in the Pittsburgh Metro area.
