A well-established general contractor in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead ground-up and renovation projects valued at $10M+. This role is responsible for full lifecycle project leadership, from preconstruction planning through closeout, with direct accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and subcontractor performance.

In addition to managing individual projects, this position plays a meaningful role in helping the company scale its operations by strengthening project controls, mentoring teams, and supporting consistent execution as project volume and complexity continue to grow. The ideal candidate brings 7-10 years of experience with an established general contractor or construction management firm and is comfortable operating in a collaborative, process-driven environment that values accountability and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead $10M+ construction projects from preconstruction through final completion, maintaining full ownership of schedule, budget, quality, and safety
  • Manage day-to-day project operations including subcontractor coordination, scheduling, cost control, RFIs, submittals, and change management
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, scopes of work, and procurement plans
  • Coordinate closely with field supervision to ensure constructability, sequencing, and execution align with project goals
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for owners, design teams, consultants, and inspectors
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement solutions to protect schedule and budget
  • Track project costs, review invoices and change orders, and support accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Contribute to the improvement of project management processes and systems to support operational growth
  • Lead project closeout efforts including punch lists, documentation, and turnover

Qualifications & Experience

  • Approximately 7-10 years of experience as a Project Manager with an established general contractor or construction management firm
  • Demonstrated experience managing $10M+ construction projects through full project lifecycle
  • Background in commercial, institutional, municipal, or similar project sectors
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration
  • Ability to lead subcontractors and internal teams while maintaining accountability and professionalism
  • Experience using modern construction technology and project management software
  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Must be based in Connecticut with familiarity with local subcontractors, codes, and regulations
