Project Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil/Paving/Grading Project Manager to join their team based out of Concord, CA. This role is ideal for a results‑driven leader who thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment and has a strong background managing complex roadway, highway, paving, and grading projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all phases of heavy civil construction projects, from pre‑construction through closeout.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and resources to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Coordinate closely with field teams, engineers, inspectors, and clients to maintain quality and compliance with project specifications.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, agencies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
- Prepare and review project documentation, change orders, cost tracking, and progress reports.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager working directly on heavy road/highway, paving, and grading projects.
- Strong understanding of Caltrans standards, roadway specifications, and public works project requirements (preferred).
- Proven experience leading multiple construction teams and subcontractors on active job sites.
- Excellent communication, budgeting, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project).
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred-but equivalent field experience will be considered.
