Project Manager- Water/Wastewater Construction
Our client is a Dallas‑based contractor specializing in heavy civil, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects across Texas. They are seeking a skilled Project Manager with a strong blend of estimating expertise, project management capability, and field experience.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will oversee project delivery from pursuit through closeout, ensuring safe, high‑quality, and cost‑effective construction. This role requires hands‑on knowledge of heavy civil and water/wastewater work, as well as the ability to collaborate across estimating, field operations, engineering, and owner teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead projects from contract award through turnover
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cost controls
- Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and field operations
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Communicate effectively with owners, engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders
Estimating & Preconstruction
- Prepare detailed estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals for heavy civil and water/wastewater pursuits
- Participate in bid strategy discussions and value‑engineering efforts
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
Field Coordination
- Work closely with field superintendents on planning, sequencing, and resource allocation
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety
- Assist with resolving field challenges, design conflicts, and unforeseen conditions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil and/or water & wastewater construction
- Demonstrated experience in estimating, project management, and field operations
- Experience with pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, utilities, or similar infrastructure
- Strong proficiency with scheduling and project management software
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
