A well-established heavy civil general contractor in the Pacific Northwest is currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to join their dynamic team in Portland, OR. Position Overview

The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing quality control procedures across a variety of heavy civil construction projects. This role ensures that all work meets or exceeds client expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project-specific Quality Control (QC) plans.
  • Perform inspections and audits to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to field personnel on quality procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters with clients and regulatory agencies.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of quality control experience in heavy civil construction (e.g., highways, bridges, utilities, earthwork).
  • Experience managing quality on DOT, municipal, or federal infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with construction materials testing (concrete, asphalt, soils).
  • Proficiency with construction documentation platforms (e.g., Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certified Quality Control Manager (CQCM) preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, ACI, and ASTM standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
