About the Opportunity

Our client is a market-leading provider of innovative ground improvement and foundation solutions, partnering with developers, contractors, consultants, and owners to solve complex geotechnical challenges across transportation, commercial, industrial, residential, and infrastructure projects.

This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise with business development. The successful candidate will act as the face of the organisation across Georgia and Florida, helping clients identify cost-effective foundation and ground improvement solutions while driving growth throughout the region. The role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, from project pursuit and conceptual design through construction support and project closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on transportation, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and private development markets.
  • Generate and qualify project opportunities within the territory through networking, client engagement, industry events, and market intelligence.
  • Build relationships with geotechnical consultants, structural engineers, developers, owners, and contractors to position proprietary ground improvement solutions on projects.
  • Review geotechnical reports, foundation recommendations, and project documents to identify opportunities for value engineering.
  • Assist in developing preliminary designs, technical proposals, and project-specific solutions that address client challenges.
  • Coordinate closely with internal engineering teams, contractors, and clients to maximise project success and efficiency.
  • Lead technical presentations, lunch-and-learns, and educational seminars to increase awareness and adoption of innovative foundation systems.
  • Support the preparation of project bids, cost estimates, and commercial proposals.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical support through design, procurement, construction, and closeout phases.
  • Maintain a detailed opportunity pipeline, tracking project status, win rates, customer interactions, and forecasted revenue.
  • Provide ongoing market feedback, competitive intelligence, and client insights to leadership.
  • Travel throughout Georgia and Florida to meet clients, visit project sites, and attend industry conferences.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience within geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, heavy civil construction, foundation contracting, ground improvement, or related infrastructure markets.
  • Proven ability to develop business relationships and influence project decisions.
  • Experience working with transportation, commercial, industrial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, foundation systems, soil improvement, or earth retention solutions.
  • Ability to evaluate both technical and commercial viability of project opportunities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed professional who thrives in a client-facing environment.
  • Excellent organisational, project management, and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Experience working for a geotechnical consultant, foundation contractor, ground improvement contractor, specialty geotechnical contractor, or related engineering organisation.
  • Prior experience in sales, business development, account management, or a seller-doer engineering role.
  • Existing relationships with DOTs, engineering consultants, developers, general contractors, or owners throughout Georgia and Florida.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline required.
  • Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
