Renewable - Remote Director of Civil/Structural Engineering
A leading EPC of Renewable Energy projects is looking for an experienced Director of Civil/Structural Engineering to join our project execution team, supporting large-scale utility solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and substation projects. This pivotal role ensures the civil and structural integrity, constructability, and performance of all foundation systems. The Director will collaborate closely with their engineering team, design teams, subcontractors, and project managers to deliver high-quality structural and foundation solutions from initial design through project closeout. The company is highly successful and has been around for over 60+ years!
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the civil/structural engineering team, including a few direct reports.
- Oversee design and analysis for foundations, structures, and site layouts for solar, BESS, and substation projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management for team members.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables and calculations.
- Support project development, permitting, and construction phases as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of civil/structural engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, BESS, substations) strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
