A multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of public and private sector projects, including parks and green spaces, transportation infrastructure, university campuses, and stormwater and utility systems.
The ideal candidate will be involved in all phases of project development from conceptual design through construction administration-and will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, and support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for civil engineering projects including:
- Roadway and paving design
- Grading and drainage
- Stormwater management
- Utility layout (sanitary sewer and water)
- Site planning and erosion/sediment control
- Prepare and oversee construction documents, specifications, design calculations, reports, cost estimates, and SWPPPs.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables within budget and schedule constraints.
- Mentor and review work of junior design staff.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and local/state agencies.
- Conduct site visits and manage construction administration tasks.
- Attend project meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering,
- 10+ years of relevant experience in civil/site design
- NYS PE license or EIT certification preferred
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation
- Stormwater modeling tools (e.g., HydroCAD) preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with local permitting processes and regulatory agencies
- Experience in stormwater and utility design is a plus
