Senior Civil Project Manager
About the Role
Our client is a well‑established national civil engineering and planning firm seeking a Senior Civil Project Manager to join their growing Duluth, Georgia office. This individual will lead land development projects from concept through construction, manage client relationships, and play a key role in mentoring staff and supporting business development efforts in the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, client‑facing project manager looking to take ownership of projects and help drive the continued growth of a respected national platform.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead land development projects from due diligence through design, permitting, and construction
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring schedules, budgets, and deliverables are met
- Prepare and oversee scopes, fee proposals, contracts, and change orders
- Coordinate with internal disciplines, clients, municipalities, and external consultants
Technical Oversight
- Providesenior‑level technical oversight for:
- Site layout and feasibility studies
- Grading, drainage, and stormwater management design
- Utilities (water, sewer, storm)
- Erosion & sediment control plans
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and develop project engineers and designers
- Assign tasks, review work, and support staff professional growth
- Contribute to hiring, performance management, and office culture
Business Development Support
- Assist with proposal preparation and client interviews
- Support repeat business development and market expansion in the metro Atlanta area
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's a plus)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Georgia preferred or ability to obtain)
- 8-15+ years of experience in land development / site civil engineering
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial, residential, mixed‑use, and/or industrial projects
- Strong understanding of local Georgia regulations and permitting
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and teams effectively
