About the Role

Our client is a well‑established national civil engineering and planning firm seeking a Senior Civil Project Manager to join their growing Duluth, Georgia office. This individual will lead land development projects from concept through construction, manage client relationships, and play a key role in mentoring staff and supporting business development efforts in the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, client‑facing project manager looking to take ownership of projects and help drive the continued growth of a respected national platform.


Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

  • Lead land development projects from due diligence through design, permitting, and construction
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring schedules, budgets, and deliverables are met
  • Prepare and oversee scopes, fee proposals, contracts, and change orders
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines, clients, municipalities, and external consultants

Technical Oversight

  • Providesenior‑level technical oversight for:
    • Site layout and feasibility studies
    • Grading, drainage, and stormwater management design
    • Utilities (water, sewer, storm)
    • Erosion & sediment control plans

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and develop project engineers and designers
  • Assign tasks, review work, and support staff professional growth
  • Contribute to hiring, performance management, and office culture

Business Development Support

  • Assist with proposal preparation and client interviews
  • Support repeat business development and market expansion in the metro Atlanta area

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's a plus)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Georgia preferred or ability to obtain)
  • 8-15+ years of experience in land development / site civil engineering
  • Demonstrated experience managing commercial, residential, mixed‑use, and/or industrial projects
  • Strong understanding of local Georgia regulations and permitting
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and teams effectively
