This is a pivotal role where your expertise will shape the success of large-scale electrical construction projects across the region-including data centers, healthcare, commerical and hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate electrical cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Interpret and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents to determine scope and pricing.
  • Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs using Accubid and Microsoft Excel, ensuring all materials, labor, and equipment are accounted for.
  • Issue and manage RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to vendors and subcontractors; evaluate proposals for cost, scope, and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to align estimates with project goals and timelines.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid reviews to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Stay current with market trends, material pricing, and labor rates in the North Carolina region to ensure competitive and realistic estimates.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal estimating tools, templates, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 7 to 11 years of experience in electrical estimating, ideally within industrial, mission-critical, or automotive sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and trade scopes.
  • Proficiency in Accubid, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and industry-standard estimating methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with North Carolina construction codes, labor markets, and permitting processes is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
