Senior Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager / Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing complex projects or managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously. This role involves planning and executing project plans, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products and services, managing project financials, and serving as the primary liaison between the internal project team and the client. The individual acts as a trusted advisor on engineering matters and ensures successful project execution. Additionally, this role includes mentoring junior project managers and ensuring overall project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confirm project scope and requirements with clients and stakeholders, collaborating with internal leadership as needed.
- Develop financial plans, negotiate fees and contracts, prepare proposals, and participate in budgeting.
- Assist in creating staffing plans and preliminary budgets in coordination with leadership.
- Ensure a Project Coordinator is assigned and facilitate proper model setup and information flow.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings to communicate scope, expectations, and budgets.
- Finalize man-hour budgets with the design team based on detailed work plans.
- Collaborate with clients to define schedules and adjust milestones as needed.
- Manage project schedules, communicate with teams, and update resource planning tools.
- Implement proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, monitor receivables, and update revenue projections.
- Attend client and stakeholder meetings, facilitate communication, and document key issues.
- Monitor budgets and align work schedules accordingly.
- Identify and manage additional service fees as needed.
- Build and maintain client relationships and support business development efforts.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Respond promptly to contractor and client inquiries.
- Oversee Construction Administration to ensure quality and design compliance.
- Supervise project closeout processes, including documentation and lessons learned.
- Collaborate with leadership to deepen understanding of project scope and financials.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Technical or Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 10+ years of experience, or 15+ years of practical experience on similar projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
- Experience in healthcare building design preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and system design.
- Basic accounting knowledge and experience managing budgets.
- Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
