Position: Senior Structural Engineer
This role is ideal for a civil/structural engineer with a passion for industrial design and a desire to work on a variety of projects-from new builds to retrofits in existing facilities. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team that values communication, creativity, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design structural systems for industrial facilities, including equipment supports, foundations, and structural framing using steel, concrete, and masonry
- Make design decisions that keep projects moving forward efficiently and effectively
- Collaborate with internal disciplines (e.g., process and electrical teams) to deliver fully integrated solutions
- Lead and manage small design teams, including designers and drafters
- Review and stamp design documents (if licensed)
- Provide creative input for unique design challenges, particularly in brownfield environments
- Manage tasks within defined budgets and schedules
- Conduct occasional site visits for field verification and coordination
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
- EIT certification (required); PE licensure or ability to obtain within 12 months (preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in structural design, ideally within industrial or manufacturing sectors
- Strong understanding of steel and concrete design principles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Experience leading small project teams is a plus
- Familiarity with industrial environments such as pulp and paper facilities is a bonus
