Senior Traffic Engineer - Leader

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Engineering Leader to help build and manage a traffic engineering group within the Texas market. This leadership role is pivotal in expanding our presence across the state, mentoring staff, and guiding strategic growth both regionally and company-wide.

The ideal candidate will be energetic, entrepreneurial, and have a proven ability to pursue and manage transportation projects with state agencies, municipalities, counties, and regional planning organizations.

Location:
Open to multiple office locations across Texas.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead with integrity and sound business principles
  • Develop and execute business strategies and plans
  • Establish and track goals for the traffic engineering group
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Foster open communication across teams and leadership
  • Grow and direct the roadway design practice
  • Hire, mentor, and manage staff at all levels
  • Pursue and manage transportation projects with state and local agencies
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedules
  • Represent the company in client meetings and industry events
  • Embrace and implement new technologies and approaches

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 16 years of experience in transportation project design
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's or advanced degree preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas
  • Strong knowledge of state transportation policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of growing engineering teams and building relationships
  • Excellent communication and business development skills
  • Experience in project management and team leadership
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, offices, and client meetings
  • Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
