Senior Transportation Design Engineer

Our client is a long‑established engineering and infrastructure organization recognized for delivering innovative, resilient solutions across the transportation sector. As part of this momentum, they are expanding their transportation engineering team and seeking a Senior Transportation Design Engineer to help drive forward high‑impact initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce robust, well‑developed transportation design solutions that meet project requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects for public agencies, including state transportation departments, tollway authorities, and municipal clients.
  • Prepare detailed design documents, models, and project plans with accuracy and consistency.
  • Apply a solid understanding of transportation design standards, specifications, and established engineering procedures.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring seamless coordination between interrelated design elements.
  • Utilize strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities to support effective project delivery and team collaboration.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in transportation design within a consulting or engineering environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of state transportation design standards, including roadway design procedures and specifications.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, including CONNECT Edition and OpenRoads Designer.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and understand cross‑discipline design integration.
  • Demonstrated strengths in problem‑solving, communication, and leadership.
