A highly respected, water-focused engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Wastewater Reuse Engineer to support the delivery of advanced water infrastructure projects across the San Diego region. The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who is passionate about advanced treatment, water reuse, and long-term water sustainability.
You will contribute to projects that move beyond conventional treatment approaches, supporting the development of innovative reuse solutions and system optimization strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the design of wastewater treatment and reuse systems, including:
- Advanced treatment processes (e.g., membrane systems, advanced biological/chemical treatment)
- Water recycling and reuse facilities
- Treatment upgrades and process optimization
- Prepare process designs, technical calculations, and engineering documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across planning, design, and delivery
- Participate in technical discussions with clients and stakeholders
- Contribute to project delivery and support coordination across teams
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related Engineering field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Typically 7-15 years of experience in wastewater treatment and/or reuse
- Strong background in treatment process design and advanced systems
- Experience in a consulting environment preferred
- Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills

Compensation
$145,000 - $185,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus and comprehensive benefits.
