Structural Engineer

Position Summary

My client is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves the design, analysis, and detailing of structural systems for new construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a dynamic team environment. You will work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver high-quality, code-compliant, and constructible solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design of buildings and other structures using industry-standard software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, RISA, Revit).
  • Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and calculation packages.
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observations to ensure design intent and code compliance.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop efficient, cost-effective structural systems that meet architectural and client goals.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide technical support during construction.
  • Stay current with local and national building codes, seismic design standards, and emerging technologies.
  • Participate in internal QA/QC processes and peer reviews.
  • Support proposal development, project budgeting, and client presentations as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 2-5 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
  • PE licensure in Oregon.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software and AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Strong understanding of structural materials including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Experience with performance-based seismic design or retrofit projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as LEED or Living Building Challenge.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment with multidisciplinary teams.
