A well-established structural engineering consultancy is seeking a qualified Special (Threshold) Inspector to join its Miami office. The firm has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering and inspection services across the United States and internationally. Its Miami team plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of large-scale construction projects throughout the region.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of structural components including:
- Cast-in-place concrete
- Reinforcing steel
- Post-tensioned slabs
- Structural steel and masonry
- Review construction documents for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports and correction notices.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and contractors to address structural concerns.
- Maintain current knowledge of Florida Building Code and relevant inspection protocols.
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or eligible for licensure.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in structural field inspections.
- Demonstrated experience with threshold buildings and complex structural systems.
- Preferred certifications include:
- ACI - Concrete Construction Special Inspection
- ICC - Structural Masonry & Soil Special Inspection
- PTI - Post-Tensioning Inspection
- ICC/AISC - Structural Steel Special Inspection
