Substation Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Substation Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of high-voltage substation projects. This role involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant engineering solutions for substation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical substation systems, including physical layout, protection and control schemes, and grounding systems
- Prepare engineering drawings such as one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts
- Conduct site assessments and support field engineering activities
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project milestones are met
- Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
- Support proposal development and provide technical input for bids and estimates
- Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in substation design and engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD tools
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, NESC, and NEC
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
