Controls Technician - Building Automation

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our Building Automation team in Houston. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls. This role involves working on commercial and industrial projects to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls.
- Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on automation hardware and software.
- Program and integrate controllers, sensors, and network devices.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely project completion.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and service activities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with at least one of the following platforms:
- Tridium Niagara
- Johnson Controls (JCI)
- Distech Controls
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building automation principles.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and control drawings.
- Proficiency in networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Niagara AX/N4 certification or equivalent.
- Experience with system integration and third-party devices.
- Familiarity with energy management strategies and analytics.
