Salary: $120,000
A division within a multi-billion-dollar multidisciplinary company is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Transmission Planning Engineer to join and lead a wide array of transmission and operational studies, as well as helping client consulting. You would be connecting with clients to decide upon study objectives and create project approaches. You will lead a team of consultants/engineers to reach study goals and supply clients with completed projects.
Key Responsibilities
The Transmission Planning Engineer will be responsible forā¦
- Overseeing all evaluations by making sure FERC, NERC and regional requirements, production costing; risk assessments techniques; policies and procedures; TPL compliance; generator interconnections are being used.
- Making sure the utility industry software - PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM, EMTP/ATP, and Promod are being used correctly to make sure client projects are completed.
- Guaranteeing the analysis of life-cycle costs is done accurately by reviewing the technical assumptions regarding operation and maintenance costs, performance estimates, capital costs, and forecasts done by consultants and analysts.
- Review technical reports and presentations of final results prior to sharing with clients.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Engineering
- 5 - 7 years of experience required
- Experience with power system planning and operations, short circuit, transient stability, and voltage analysis; FERC, NERC and regional requirements, production costing; risk assessments techniques; policies and procedures; TPL compliance; harmonics analysis; and generator interconnection
- Knowledge of power regions of the country and independent system operators: MISO, PJM, NEISO, CAISO, SPP, WECC, ERCOT, NYISO, SERC
- Knowledgeable within standard engineering, construction, principles, operation techniques, and procedures associated with power transmission facilities
