Job Title: Roadway Engineer (E.I.)
Location: Chipley, Florida
Overview
Seeking a Roadway Engineer (E.I.) to support transportation projects throughout the Florida Panhandle, with a primary focus on FDOT District 3 work. This role will be heavily design-focused and offers exposure to all phases of roadway project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of roadway and highway projects for FDOT and local municipalities
- Prepare PS&E plans, including alignments, profiles, cross sections, and typical sections
- Perform quantity calculations and cost estimates
- Support drainage and utility coordination efforts
- Utilize design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, and GEOPAK/OpenRoads Designer
- Coordinate with internal teams and subconsultants on project deliverables
- Assist with plan production and QA/QC reviews
- Participate in client meetings and project coordination as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer Intern (E.I. / EIT) certification required
- 0-4 years of roadway or transportation design experience
- Familiarity with FDOT design standards and criteria preferred
- Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to FDOT District 3 projects
- Internship or full-time experience supporting roadway design
- Basic understanding of drainage, MOT, and utility coordination
