Job Title: Project Manager - Mechanical Systems (HVAC & Plumbing)
Location: Lawrence, PA
Overview:
Our client is currently seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee mechanical construction projects, specifically HVAC and plumbing systems, with budgets up to $3 million. This role involves full lifecycle management of contracts, ensuring operational efficiency, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of assigned mechanical contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
- Develop and maintain monthly financial forecasts and performance updates.
- Collaborate with trade supervisors to build and manage a capable and disciplined field team.
- Oversee project execution including scope definition, scheduling, cost control, procurement, staffing, change management, and compliance.
- Monitor project operations to ensure cost-effective performance and adherence to industry standards.
- Provide technical and administrative guidance to project staff.
- Delegate major tasks and establish priorities in consultation with senior leadership.
- Participate in staffing decisions including hiring, promotions, and terminations in coordination with leadership.
- Serve as a key point of contact for client representatives, addressing construction-related concerns and resolving issues.
- Manage procurement of equipment, subcontractor services, and materials through approved channels.
- Maintain communication with architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all project activities.
- Enforce safety protocols and coordinate training with the safety team to maintain compliance on job sites.
- Support administrative teams with timely and accurate project documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience managing HVAC and/or plumbing projects.
- Licenses such as City of Pittsburgh HVAC or Allegheny County Master Plumbing are advantageous.
- Strong background in proposal writing, scope development, scheduling, and contractor coordination.
- Proven ability to manage complex construction schedules and meet client demands.
- Skilled in project planning, execution, and team leadership.
- Effective communicator with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and construction processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with COINS OA is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Capable of working independently and adapting to shifting priorities.
