Director of Preconstruction - Mission Critical

Our client, a leading general contractor specializing in complex, high-performance facilities, is seeking an experienced Director of Preconstruction to join their team. About the Role

As the Director of Preconstruction, you will oversee all preconstruction activities for mission-critical projects, including data centers and other high-tech environments. You will play a pivotal role in client engagement, team leadership, and ensuring accurate cost planning and project feasibility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage preconstruction services for mission-critical projects.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Mentor and develop preconstruction team members to achieve peak performance.
  • Oversee design and preconstruction phases, including estimates, cost studies, and benchmarking.
  • Serve as the primary client contact during preconstruction.
  • Collaborate with project management teams for a smooth transition into construction.
  • Support recruitment and development of top talent within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in preconstruction, including leadership roles.
  • Experience with mission-critical or data center projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating and scheduling software (e.g., Timberline, OST, P6, Bluebeam).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High ethical standards and a collaborative approach.
