Transportation Engineer
Our top regional client is growing their transportation team in Minnesota and is seeking a mid- to senior-level Transportation Engineer to serve as either an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage transportation projects from design through construction, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are high quality.
- Lead technical tasks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transportation elements into broader infrastructure plans.
- Oversee budgets, schedules, and scope, while maintaining clear documentation and progress tracking.
- Support junior staff through mentorship, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to align on project goals, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships.
- Review plans, reports, and specifications for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
- Assist with construction coordination, including responding to field issues and collaborating with contractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- PE license required.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation or traffic engineering.
- Skilled in Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, and traffic modeling tools such as Synchro or Vissim.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with utility coordination and construction practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or task management role.
- Experience with DOT or municipal projects.
