Overview
A leading Japanese company with a strong international presence is seeking an experienced Accountant to support consolidated financial reporting for both domestic and overseas entities. This role will work closely with headquarters in Japan and international subsidiaries, playing a key part in group accounting, external audits, and global reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements for headquarters and overseas subsidiaries
- Manage and review monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
- Coordinate accounting matters between Japan HQ and international entities
- Handle external audit processes, including auditor inquiries and documentation
- Ensure compliance with JGAAP, and support reporting under IFRS and/or US GAAP
- Review intercompany transactions and eliminate entries during consolidation
- Support improvements in accounting processes, controls, and reporting quality
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across finance, tax, and overseas finance teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting
- Hands-on experience with external audits
- Solid knowledge of JGAAP, plus IFRS or US GAAP
- Experience with consolidation accounting involving overseas entities
- Business-level English (written and spoken); Japanese proficiency required
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work in a global environment
