Minnesota (Alexandria preferred; flexibility across office locations, primarily on-site with field work)


Role Summary

As an Archaeologist - Environmental & Cultural Resources, you will support cultural resource management (CRM) efforts across a variety of infrastructure and development projects. This role combines fieldwork, technical reporting, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with environmental and cultural resource regulations.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality archaeological services while supporting project planning and regulatory approvals.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct archaeological fieldwork including surveys, testing, excavation, monitoring, and data collection
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documentation (including Phase I/Class I reporting)
  • Coordinate with federal and state agencies to support permitting and compliance efforts
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and project teams on environmental and cultural considerations
  • Provide recommendations to support project planning and cultural resource management strategies
  • Assist with or lead field projects across multiple locations, depending on experience

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Archaeology or a related field
  • Archaeological field experience (CRM experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of federal and state cultural resource regulations and permitting
  • Experience with ArcGIS tools and GPS equipment
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading field projects or managing field teams
  • Familiarity with multi-state projects or regional archaeology
  • Background supporting infrastructure or public sector projects
