The Opportunity
They are seeking an Assistant Mechanical Manager to join their high-performing team in Northern Virginia. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in mechanical systems within mission-critical environments, particularly large-scale data centers. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mechanical and fire protection systems, while also contributing to strategic maintenance planning and vendor coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement O&M strategies to ensure 24/7 uptime of critical systems
- Maintain and enhance preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Create procedures and checklists within the site's CMMS platform
- Oversee and inspect work performed by third-party vendors
- Manage budgets and costs related to mechanical operations
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement
- Build strong internal and external relationships across teams and vendors
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data center operations and maintenance
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and building automation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Visio) and AutoCAD
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
- Willingness to work extended hours and respond to emergencies as needed
