Assistant Project Manager
An international engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager to support and manage multidisciplinary projects focused on environmental remediation, site reclamation, and compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex projects that help clients meet regulatory requirements, restore impacted sites, and sustainably manage natural resources. You will play a key role in coordinating technical tasks, supporting senior staff, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and managing environmental and engineering projects from concept through completion.
- Support preparation of technical documents, including feasibility studies, remedial designs, and optimization reports.
- Coordinate and participate in field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling, drilling oversight, and remediation system monitoring.
- Track project budgets, schedules, and deliverables while maintaining strong client communication.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical solutions for reclamation, remediation, and contamination characterization.
- Contribute to design efforts for mine waste and tailings management, site closure, and remediation of sites impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, PFAS, metals, and other contaminants.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.S. in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Geological Engineering (or related field).
- Experience: 5-10 years in environmental or engineering projects with demonstrated project coordination experience.
- Familiarity with remediation technologies, reclamation practices, and regulatory compliance (RCRA, CERCLA, EPA).
- Strong technical writing, data analysis, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Preferred: Professional engineering license or advanced degree; experience with mining reclamation or contaminated site investigations; proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and GIS tools.
