Position Overview

The Assistant Superintendent will support field operations on ground-up and renovation projects, working closely with the Lead Superintendent to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position is ideal for an emerging construction professional looking to develop leadership skills while gaining experience on large-scale commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily field supervision of subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
  • Support project scheduling efforts and help maintain milestone achievement throughout construction.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing activities, and quality control procedures.
  • Monitor jobsite safety and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in daily and weekly coordination meetings with project teams and trade partners.
  • Track manpower, material deliveries, and equipment utilization to maintain productivity.
  • Assist in resolving field issues, RFIs, and constructability challenges.
  • Help maintain project documentation, reports, logs, and site records.
  • Walk projects regularly to verify workmanship and adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Support project closeout activities, punch list management, and turnover procedures.

Desired Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of commercial construction experience.
  • Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, retail, or commercial projects preferred.
  • Understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
