Job Description:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of advanced energy systems, particularly focusing on battery cell design and mechanical structure engineering. You will be involved in a variety of development projects, contributing your expertise to both conceptual and practical aspects of mechanical design.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing battery cells and associated mechanical components with a focus on performance, safety, and manufacturability
- Conducting mechanical and thermal simulations to validate design concepts and optimize system performance
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, material scientists, and external partners to drive innovation and ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems
- Participating in prototyping, testing, and evaluation of mechanical designs under various environmental conditions
- Supporting the development of next-generation energy storage technologies by applying advanced mechanical engineering principles
- Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness

Work Location:
Head Office / Research Institute (Seika-cho, Soraku-gun, Kyoto Prefecture)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Specialized knowledge and work experience in mechanical engineering and thermal engineering
- Experience in design work related to mechanical or electrical systems in a company or university setting
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
- Experience with design simulation technologies
- Ability to design and simulate based on knowledge of material behavior (e.g., thermal expansion, embrittlement) and gas flow in high-temperature environments (600-800°C)
- Expertise or experience in stress analysis and thermal fluid analysis using CAD
- Experience using simulation software such as Ansys
- Network with equipment manufacturers or mechanical fabrication companies
