Building Automation Commissioning Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BAS Commissioning Engineer to lead and support the commissioning of Building Automation Systems across diverse projects. The ideal candidate will ensure systems are installed, programmed, and functioning according to design specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning & Testing:

    • Perform functional testing and validation of BAS systems including HVAC, lighting, energy management, and other integrated systems.
    • Verify sensor calibration, actuator operation, and control sequences.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning phases.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Develop and maintain commissioning plans, checklists, and test scripts.
    • Produce detailed commissioning reports and system performance summaries.
    • Document deviations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaboration & Coordination:

    • Work closely with project managers, design engineers, contractors, and clients.
    • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration.
    • Provide technical support and training to end-users and facility staff.
  • Compliance & Standards:

    • Ensure systems comply with relevant codes, standards, and sustainability goals (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
  • Proven experience in BAS commissioning, preferably with systems like Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Tridium, or Schneider Electric.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control logic, and networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
