Position Overview:
We're looking for a Building Enclosure Consultant / Project Manager to join a dynamic team based in Waukesha, WI. In this role, you'll take the lead on a variety of enclosure-focused projects, from new construction to complex retrofit and restoration work. You'll be responsible for managing project delivery, conducting field investigations, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure high-quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate building enclosure consulting projects from concept through completion.
- Conduct on-site evaluations and diagnostic testing of enclosure systems, including water infiltration and air leakage assessments.
- Review architectural and construction documents to identify potential enclosure issues and provide design input.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports and documentation for clients and project stakeholders.
- Support construction administration efforts, including site visits, submittal reviews, and contractor coordination.
- Assist in the development of repair and remediation strategies for existing buildings.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
- Participate in business development activities and help grow the local practice.
- Travel up to 25% based on project locations and workload.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Architectural Engineering, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in building enclosure consulting
OR
5+ years of hands-on industry experience in lieu of a degree. - Strong understanding of building envelope systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam; familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus.
- Comfortable working at heights and using access equipment such as ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional licensure or the ability to obtain it within 12 months.
- Experience with ASTM field testing standards and protocols.
- Familiarity with thermal and hygrothermal modeling tools (e.g., THERM, WUFI).
- Working knowledge of Revit, BIM, or SketchUp.
- Safety certifications or scaffold training credentials.
