California | Environmental Compliance Lead
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Compliance Lead to oversee and guide our environmental compliance programs across California. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, particularly in wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, and air quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead environmental compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to CEQA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and other relevant regulations.
- Develop and manage environmental permits, sampling plans, and mitigation strategies.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and investigations of industrial, commercial, and municipal facilities.
- Prepare and review technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve compliance issues.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance across projects.
- Stay current with evolving environmental laws and lead internal training sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in environmental compliance, with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of California-specific environmental regulations.
- Proven experience in regulatory reporting, permit coordination, and enforcement actions.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Professional certifications (e.g., QSP, QSD, REPA) are a plus.
