CHICAGO | Transportation Engineer
A leading firm in the civil engineering sector is seeking a full-time Transportation Engineer to support roadway and infrastructure projects across Illinois. This full-time role offers the opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to meaningful transportation design work for state and local agencies. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of civil engineering fundamentals, along with a strong drive to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully to project success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Designing major roadway infrastructure such as highways, interchanges, and urban or rural corridors
- Engaging with clients to understand project goals and provide strategic design solutions
- Leading technical coordination efforts and maintaining high standards of project execution
- Supporting proposal development and collaborating with business development teams
- Managing quality assurance processes and integrating technical components across disciplines
- Conducting site visits to assess existing conditions and inform design decisions
- Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff
Qualifications:
- PE license in Illinois
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Transportation Engineering
- 7+ years of relevant experience in transportation design
- Knowledge of IDOT Design Manuals, Standards, Specifications, and Guidelines
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads
