Civil Engineer

A locally rooted civil engineering firm in Salt Lake City is seeking a Project Engineer to support its growing land development practice. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about designing and delivering high-quality civil infrastructure for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and coordination of land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design.
• Prepare construction documents, engineering reports, and permit applications.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and stormwater management design.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
• Conduct site visits and support construction administration as needed.
• Maintain project documentation and assist with cost estimates and schedules.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in land development or site civil design.
• EIT certification required; PE license in Utah or ability to obtain is a plus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with local development codes and permitting processes in Utah.
• Experience with stormwater modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, HEC-RAS).
• Exposure to residential subdivisions, commercial site plans, or public infrastructure projects.
