Civil Engineer
A locally rooted civil engineering firm in Salt Lake City is seeking a Project Engineer to support its growing land development practice. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about designing and delivering high-quality civil infrastructure for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and coordination of land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design.
- Prepare construction documents, engineering reports, and permit applications.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and stormwater management design.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
- Conduct site visits and support construction administration as needed.
- Maintain project documentation and assist with cost estimates and schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in land development or site civil design.
- EIT certification required; PE license in Utah or ability to obtain is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with local development codes and permitting processes in Utah.
- Experience with stormwater modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, HEC-RAS).
- Exposure to residential subdivisions, commercial site plans, or public infrastructure projects.
