Construction Manager
A firm that dominates the DC transportation market is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead and manage complex construction projects. This role involves overseeing all aspects of construction planning, coordination, and execution, with a strong emphasis on contract administration, safety, and stakeholder engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science, or a closely related field; equivalent work experience may be considered
* At least 10 years of experience in construction management, including:
* Contract administration
* Document, time, cost, and quality management
* Change management
* Site safety oversight
* Experience in estimating, bidding, scheduling, cost control, and subcontractor management
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with owners, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
* Demonstrated commitment to contributing to a collaborative, employee-focused culture
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, and ensure quality control
* Develop and implement the Project Management Plan or Construction Management Plan
* Establish procedures for contract administration, including change orders, cost tracking, safety, and quality assurance
* Support procurement activities, including scope development, bid coordination, and subcontract negotiations
* Conduct constructability and value engineering reviews
* Monitor design progress to ensure alignment with construction requirements
* Oversee document control and submittal processes, including shop drawings and pay applications
* Prepare and negotiate change orders
* Analyze and manage construction schedules and budgets
* Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols through regular inspections and communication
* Generate and maintain project reports, including daily logs, progress updates, and budget tracking
* Manage project setup, including temporary facilities and logistics
Perform additional duties as required to support successful project delivery
