With a strong reputation for technical excellence and delivery certainty, the company is expanding its footprint in Asia Pacific and now seeks its first senior leader in Japan to build and drive market presence.

Role Overview

As the Country Manager, Japan, you will be responsible for establishing and growing the company's business operations locally. This is a rare opportunity to build a business from the ground up in one of the world's most dynamic data center markets. You will lead market entry, develop key customer relationships, and build partnerships to accelerate growth.

The ideal candidate is a highly driven commercial leader with deep knowledge of the Japan data center ecosystem and a strong network across operators, developers, engineering firms, and hyperscale cloud providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the market entry strategy and serve as the company's primary representative in Japan.
  • Identify and drive new business development opportunities with data center operators, cloud providers, and mission‑critical infrastructure clients.
  • Establish strong relationships with senior decision‑makers across the data center value chain.
  • Build and manage a local team over time, ensuring alignment with global standards.
  • Work closely with regional and global leadership on commercial strategy, operational planning, and project delivery oversight.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements specific to the Japan mission‑critical sector.
  • Represent the company at industry events, associations, and client engagements.

Requirements

  • Native Japanese speaker with fluent English (verbal & written).
  • Direct experience in the data center industry-this can include roles in engineering, commissioning, project management, technical sales, or business development.
  • Strong track record in business development, key account management, or market expansion.
  • Deep understanding of Japan's data center ecosystem and regulatory environment.
  • Proven commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to interact with C‑level stakeholders.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to operate independently as the first hire in Japan.
  • Experience working with global or regional teams is highly advantageous.
