My client is seeking an experienced, hands‑on leader to oversee their Structural Engineering Department. In this role, you'll mentor engineers and architects, shape team operations, and lead project delivery from investigation through construction. You'll work directly with clients, city agencies, and internal partners while contributing to a diverse portfolio- from affordable housing and luxury towers to historic restorations and landmark structures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead major projects and manage team structure, staffing, and planning

  • Oversee new build, renovation, and restoration projects through all phases

  • Perform structural analysis and design across various building systems

  • Coordinate with architectural and MEP teams

  • Review drawings, RFIs, and conduct site visits

  • Manage budgets, schedules, and change orders

  • Support business development and proposal scoping

Requirements

  • 12+ years of structural design experience for mid‑ to high‑rise buildings

  • 5+ years of Local Law 11/FISP experience

  • Master's in Structural Engineering and P.E. preferred

  • Strong steel, concrete, and structural alteration experience

  • Proven project management and team leadership skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, RISA 3D, RAM, ETABS

  • Strong communication skills and NYC project experience
