Electrical Designer/Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the electrical discipline in client meetings, offering expert advice and practical solutions.
- Design power system facilities and equipment; coordinate construction, operation, and maintenance of power generation, receiving, and distribution systems.
- Develop conceptual layouts and sketches to optimize design efficiency for each project.
- Participate in planning, scheduling, and execution of detailed phases of electrical engineering work.
- Prepare equipment and construction specifications, including contractor scope of work documents.
- Direct or prepare drawings and select equipment and materials for construction and installation.
- Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Produce technical deliverables such as one-line diagrams, wiring drawings, panel layouts, motor schematics, instrument loop sheets, conduit/tray routing drawings, and scope documents.
- Address grounding requirements including high resistance, building, and isolated grounding systems.
- Provide on-site startup and commissioning support as needed.
Qualifications:
- 6-10+ years of experience in medium and low-voltage distribution system design and installation, preferably within consulting engineering and construction environments.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA).
- Capable of managing on-site plant projects independently.
- Highly organized with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage budgets while collaborating with client engineering and maintenance teams.
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit and CAD tools including AutoCAD.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred, but not required.
