Electrical Engineer
A global service provider is looking for a detail‑oriented and technically skilled Electrical Engineer supporting utility‑scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects. This position includes leading electrical design activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting project execution from early concept through construction, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams focused on advancing clean energy.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual electrical designs including system layouts, single‑line diagrams, load flow studies, and fault current analyses.
- Support equipment selection for transformers, switchgear, inverters, and protection devices.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) during early project stages.
- Oversee and review deliverables produced by external Engineers of Record (EoRs).
- Review and approve 30/60/90/IFC design packages, drawings, technical studies, and specifications.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and maintain clear technical communication with all stakeholders.
- Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings to align project scope and schedules.
- Evaluate technical proposals from equipment vendors and manufacturers.
- Recommend technically sound and cost‑effective solutions for procurement activities.
- Support vendor selection and contract development processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Estimating, Procurement, and Construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in technical discussions regarding design assumptions, risks, and project requirements.
- Ensure a complete and accurate technical handoff to construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and applicable regional electrical codes.
- Follow internal IMS and QHSE standards.
- Provide on‑site technical support, troubleshooting, and resolution during construction.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of internal engineering tools, templates, and processes.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in renewable energy or infrastructure
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills
- Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience conducting on‑site evaluations and supporting field engineering activities
- Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
- Ability to work onsite as needed
- 3+ years of Renewable Energy Semiconductor Manufacturing experience
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with Procore, PVcase, or PVsyst
- Familiarity with ETAP, CYMCAP, PSSE, or PSCAD
