Electrical Engineering Group Lead
A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Engineering Group Lead (PE) to support its building systems and infrastructure practice. This leadership role is responsible for managing electrical engineering design efforts, overseeing project delivery, and serving as a key client-facing representative across a range of multidisciplinary projects.
This position combines technical leadership, team management, and business development, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality solutions and building long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on project-related matters
- Lead and oversee electrical engineering design efforts within multi-discipline project teams
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and support staff, including recruitment and career development
- Allocate staff resources across projects, ensuring appropriate workload balancing and utilization
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Perform and oversee technical work including system evaluations, design documentation, specifications, and permitting submissions
- Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships
- Prepare proposals and participate in client presentations
- Collaborate across internal teams to support broader service offerings and project execution
- Remain current with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in building systems engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain via reciprocity in a short timeframe
- Strong experience in:
- Building power distribution systems
- Lighting design
- Low-voltage systems (telecommunications)
- Fire alarm systems
