Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Are you a seasoned Senior Project Manager with the expertise to lead complex commercial construction projects from concept to completion? We're seeking a highly skilled professional to oversee planning, coordination, site management, budgeting, and quality assurance on large‑scale builds across the Dallas region.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, excels at problem‑solving, and can confidently lead teams, contractors, and project stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Planning
- Lead, plan, and coordinate all phases of commercial construction projects.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle or specific components.
- Prepare and manage bid documents, answer bidder inquiries, and issue addenda.
- Evaluate incoming bids and manage negotiations with selected contractors.
- Develop detailed project schedules and coordinate all design-related activities.
Construction Oversight
- Select, hire, and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site supervisors.
- Monitor daily site activities and ensure compliance with all plans and specifications.
- Maintain full responsibility for site operations, worker performance, and progress.
- Ensure that construction adheres to quality, safety, and design standards.
Budget, Procurement & Compliance
- Maintain project budgets, cost control, and wage management.
- Source and procure materials, tools, equipment, and resources.
- Track and document expenses, material usage, and labour hours.
- Obtain required permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Liaise with government inspectors on safety and licensing requirements.
Change Management & Issue Resolution
- Identify potential issues early and implement solutions quickly.
- Review, process, negotiate, and resolve change orders.
- Handle contract discrepancies efficiently and fairly.
Quality & Safety Assurance
- Uphold quality standards throughout project execution.
- Enforce safety plans and ensure full compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor worker performance and site conditions.
- Prepare detailed progress reports in collaboration with the foreman.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and multitasking abilities
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, trades, and building systems
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to anticipate challenges
- High attention to detail with strong visualisation skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literate with experience in relevant construction/project management software
Work Environment
- Based on active client project sites in the Dallas area
- Frequent interaction with employees, subcontractors, trades, and inspectors
- Work performed in varied climates and outdoor environments
Physical Requirements
- Regular standing, walking, speaking, and use of hands/arms
- Ability to navigate all areas of a construction site
- Ability to lift or manipulate materials/equipment up to 50 lbs
- Frequent climbing (ladders, stairways), bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
- Strong visual acuity (focus, depth perception, color differentiation)
- Ability to operate vehicles (standard or commercial)
Education & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent experience preferred
