TITLE: Transmission Planning Engineer
One of the largest G&T companies in the country is looking for a highly skilled engineer to perform studies and analyses, and lead initiatives in the power flow analyses and interconnection space. You will be an asset in ensuring system reliability and supporting the expansion of the transmission system and collaborating with members and stakeholders in the company. This position is onsite, and located in Tampa, Florida.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Model and analyze the electric transmission system, including power flow, voltage, short-circuit, and stability studies
- Recommend system upgrades and support long-term transmission planning based on reliability needs, load growth, and new generation interconnections
- Develop python scripts and technical tools to support simulation and modeling workflows
- Coordinate with internal teams and industry stakeholders while contributing to NERC compliance activities and documentation
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
The Transmission Planning Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 1.5 years of planning/engineering experience in the electric utility industry
- Strong foundation of electrical engineering principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical report writing
