Role Summary: My client is looking for an experiences environmental engineer or geologist with an accomplished work history in the consulting space. They are seeking someone to assist in leading the department with the projected growth path to be towards becoming the department head for environmental services. This role involves the management and oversight of about 50 people in the Southeastern US and thus an existing management experience as well as project or program management knowledge is needed. Business development is another key aspect of the role as the company is looking to bring on additional clients on board.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management and leadership of FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) projects from inception to completion, ensuring along with the team that all project goals are met within the specified timeline and budget.
- Execute the design and implementation of remedial systems, including site assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering designs.
- Ensure all projects comply with FDEP regulations and other relevant environmental laws and standards.
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, project documentation, and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and financial accountability.
- A current client list is needed for business development to assist the team and company on the expansion of environmental clients and services the team provides.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on petroleum restoration projects and remedial system design, construction, and maintenance.
- Strong proficiency in environmental engineering principles, remedial system design, and project management software.
- Knowledge of FDEP regulations and other relevant environmental laws and standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and team members.
- Proven ability to lead and manage project teams, with a focus on mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Previous business development experience and cultivation of client relationships - both existing and new.
