Summary: My client is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 3-7 years of consulting experience to support environmental assessment and investigation projects throughout the Atlanta metro area and surrounding Southeast region. This role is ideal for a hands‑on professional with strong field experience who is ready to take ownership of technical tasks, support project managers, and grow within a collaborative consulting environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling in support of environmental investigations and remediation projects.
- Support and execute Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), including field activities, data evaluation, and reporting.
- Conduct soil vapor intrusion (SVI) assessments, including sample collection, data interpretation, and contribution to mitigation or response strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, figures, and tables that clearly document field activities and analytical results.
- Coordinate field activities with subcontractors, laboratories, and project team members.
- Assist with regulatory communication and data submittals under state and federal environmental programs.
- Support project managers with scheduling, task tracking, and quality control.
- Follow health and safety plans and promote safe field practices at all times.
Qualifications
- 3-7 years of environmental consulting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Soil and groundwater sampling
- Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
- Soil vapor intrusion investigations
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and investigation practices.
- Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively within project teams.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally for field assignments.
- OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain).
